Résumé
Heike S. Urich-Erber was born on 3rd May 1977 in Ulm. She studied law in Konstanz, Lausanne, Oxford and Heidelberg. In 2003 she successfully took her first state examination in law in Konstanz. In 2004 she graduated from the University of Oxford (Wadham College) with the degree Magister Juris in European and Comparative Law.

She subsequently worked as an academic associate at the “Institut für deutsches und europäisches Gesellschafts- und Wirtschaftsrecht” (Institute of German and European Corporate and Business Law) at the University of Heidelberg. Her doctorate on the topic “Äquivalenzstörungen und Leistungserschwernisse im deutschen und englischen Recht sowie den Principles of European Contract Law“ (“Impracticability and frustration in German and English law and in the Principles of European Contract Law”) was supervised by Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Werner F. Ebke, LL.M. (UC Berkeley).

From 2007 to 2009 she completed her practical legal training in Heidelberg which enabled her to spend parts of this training at the law firm Walter Sigle Rechtsanwaelte in Stuttgart, at the German University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer and at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Paris.

In 2008 she obtained her doctorate of jurisprudence from the University of Heidelberg. In 2009 she successfully took her second state examination in law in Heidelberg. Since September 2009 she has been working as an attorney with the Law Firm of Walter Sigle Rechtsanwaelte in Stuttgart.
